As part of the recent Designblok 13, the Prague design and fashion week that ran October 07-13 2013, the Product Design students of the Faculty of Art & Design, JEP University in Ústí nad Labem presented a colourful display of bikes and scooters aimed at young children.
Designblok 13 / Marek Baláž
Displayed on a white steep racing slope, the brightly-coloured tape worked well against the basement car park. Petra Mülerová’s bright red scooter is half fish half helicopter, while Aleš Kachlík’s white cow-like form leaves you wondering on. Marek Baláž uses chunky wooden pole components for the handlebars etc and keeps the details to a minimum.
Johana Němečková / Perla Kratochvílová
Perla Kratochvílová’s turquoise and natural wood moose form has a delightful simplicity, while Johana Němečková’s pink furry horned creature also has plenty of character.
Tomáš Machač / Jakub Šika
Jakub Šika opts for a ‘jaws’-style body in sleek black plastic, while Tomáš Machač’s mean-machine looks equally aquatic in silhouette, even when on the road.
Designblok 13 display / Marie Krajníková
Finally, Marie Krajníková’s sophisticated bike is lovingly crafted with a wooden seat and step.
